Taking regular time-off promotes our overall well-being. The free time to reconnect with ourselves bring stress relief, thereby keeping us healthy.
Our most recent vacation was a trip to TJR. We were there for 4D3N. Dungun is a sleepy town; there were not much to do there so we spent most of our time at the resort. We didn’t mind it as the beach is very well maintained.

I loved the resort with its traditional Malay village feel. The room was very spacious, although hubby complained that the TV was small.
We had a room overlooking the ocean. It gets very cool at night that we turned off the a/c before going to sleep. Best je bangun to the sound of the waves.
I had two massage treatments at the spa. The first one was really good, but the second time was just okay compared to the first one. I had to stifle my laugh during the mandi bunga ritual, though.
We took the full-board package so we had all our meals there. The breakfast spread was minimal. My favorite was the nasi dagang, but came in very limited supply, so if you were late for breakfast, high chance you’d miss out on this. Lunch at the Nelayan Restaurant was just okay, nothing to shout about. Dinner at the Di Atas Sungei was a hit and miss. The first night Chef Ann recommended the dishes, so they were great. They don’t have a menu because they will cook based on what the Chef bought at the market earlier in the day. The second night we made the mistake of going for steamboat. That was a disappointment. So the final night we went back to ala carte. The chocolate lava cake was fantastic, which was what I had for all three nights.
The staff members were very warm and hospitable. They were always smiling and very accommodating. Thanks to Hairul for his effort to look for a better hairdryer for me hihihi. I seriously don’t understand why hotels don’t provide better hairdryers. Oh, I liked that the staff take off their shoes when cleaning the room.
Overall, TJR is an excellent place for a quiet getaway. We look forward to another vacation at the resort!
