Slipped Disc

The human spine is made up of the spinal cord which is protected and supported by the vertebral column. This column is a series of stacked bones called the vertebrae. In between the vertebrae are discs that cushion and protect the bones in your spine. These discs also allow the bones in your spine to flex when you move to bend over, arch your back and twist your body.

A slipped disc is actually a condition called herniated disc. The disc does not really "slip". Rather, what is likely happening is that one of the discs in your spine has been damaged and may be pressing on a nerve causing a severe back pain. Damaged disc can also cause inflammation in your spine.

Factors that contribute to this condition include aging with associated degeneration and loss of elasticity of the discs and supporting structures; injury from improper lifting, especially if accompanied by twisting or turning; and excessive strain forces associated with physical activities. Sudden forceful acute trauma is an uncommon cause of a slipped disk.

The good news is that the pain from a slipped disk generally gets better on its own within about six weeks.

The way you stand, sit, and move can affect whether your discs get damaged. Wearing Premium Beautiful provides the support and protection that your back needs by promoting better postures and body movement.

Additionally, it can assist in the healing process similar to keeping your back in a brace.
