Tioman

We finally visited Tioman! The island is well-reputed for it's diverse marine life and beautiful, clear water, making it a popular spot for diving.

We flew in by Berjaya Air around noon on Wednesday. It's almost an hour flight from Subang Airport. Everyone but four passengers on the flight were foreigners. I was surprised considering it's a long weekend here. I guess Malaysians go elsewhere for holidays.

We were transported to the hotel upon arrival. The hotel is less than 10 minutes away from the airport/jetty. We were pleasantly surprised our room was ready even though the check in time stated on our reservation was 3 pm.

The area of Berjaya Tioman Resort seemed very well-maintained. Our room, however, was very basic. Although decent and clean, it was not at all impressive considering the price charged.

We spent most of our time at the resort. There are enough activities to keep you busy during your stay.

We also rented a motorbike to explore the village. It costs RM80 per day - the same rate we paid for car rental in Langkawi. It was my first time on a motorbike so I guess I was paying for the experience :P

We had our meals mostly in the village. One of the things I enjoy when traveling is tasting the local food. I'd recommend that you visit Warong Syahirah at least once. It's only open for dinner, though.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The beautiful and serene environment is a great place to relax.
