In Flight Exercise

Going on long-haul flights can be uncomfortable. Prolonged sitting causes blood to pool in your veins. These exercises are subtle enough for you to perform on the plane to improve your blood circulation throughout your journey.

Heel and toe lifts
Sit up straight with shoulders back and feet planted on the floor. Lift your heels off the floor, raising them as far as you can while keeping your toes planted. Hold, then slowly release to the floor. Repeat twenty times.

Knee crunches
Sit up straight with shoulders back and feet planted on the floor. Slowly raise your knees towards your chest. Hold, then release back to the floor.

Roll your joints
Rotate your ankle one at a time. Do the same for your wrists. Avoid stiff neck by rolling the neck, especially if you have been doing some reading.

Finally, keep yourself hydrated by drinking a lot of water. Avoid alcohol, soda and caffeinated beverages. Increasing your body's fluid supply helps your blood to pump more efficiently.
