Your Daily Fruit and Vege Intake

Fruits and vegetables are critical to promote good health. The daily recommended fruit and vegetable intake is a minimum of five servings. As these foods contain vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants, they help to protect you from diseases and prevent cancer. For a healthy variety, eat fruits and vegetables in different colors.

To make sure that I get enough fruits everyday, I blend at least two types of fruits when I make smoothies for my morning snack. Then, I'll make sure I have a portion of vegetables when I eat lunch and dinner.

Another way to remind yourself is to keep fruits and vegetables on the front shelves of your refrigerator so they are easy to reach when you are looking for a snack!
